New Student 9-14-10

A new student in our program arrived today. He is from Shanghai, China. I was having lunch with Ashok in his flat when the new guy arrived, sorry I don’t remember his name. He is living in a single room in Ashok’s flat. After he put down his things in his room he came down to the kitchen to ask where he could get on the internet. That’s when I found out that he was the one student who hadn’t arrived yet for our program. I took him to the classroom after lunch so that he could use the internet and then went with him to the canteen for dinner. He seems like a really nice guy. He said that he has done two years of his master’s program in Shanghai and he had to finish something for that program before coming here. That is why he came late. It is interesting all of the different educational backgrounds that everyone has. Some people only have a bachelor’s degree. Some are in the middle of their masters. Some have finished their masters and have some work experience and some are in the middle of their PhD program.
